The Latin Scouts Group- Aboud was established in 1981 by a group of ambitious youth. It was formed by foundation committee and a leadership council of thirteen members. It was consisted of the following groups:
Cubs Troop, Flowers Bunch, Scout Troop, Girlguide Troop, developed Scout Troop, and the Waygoing Clan.
It included the following committees: volunteer work com., culture com., sports com., technical com., social com., and music com..
It has started its activities since that time and on all levels: cultural and art, sport, consultation, volunteer work and society service. It also participated in all the religious, national and social occassions.
The scouts and consultation activities:
The group has made several scout camps for the various groups of people of the different ages and also participated in the camps that were done by the Palestinian Scouts Association in addition to the training courses (elementary and preparatory courses and the wood badge). It also participated in all the scouts festival that are done annually for Christmas in Bethlehem, Ramallah and Aboud except during the Palestinian Intifada.
Sports activities:
The sports committee has always practiced this activity during the last years and also did journal, participating in the periodic that are done in Palestine whenever it is possible, practicing the sports activity inside the scout residence, and getting on several cubs and medals.
Cultural and artistic activity:
The group has always done festivals and recreational activities annually since its establishment before twenty years. It also did lectures, workshops, computer courses, magazines and publications in addition to the very poor library that exists in a corner of the hall.
The social activity:
The group has done several scouts, recreational, training and religious trips to different areas around our village. It also did trips to different areas inside Israel in addition to twelve summer camps for children.
The volunteer work:
The group has always practiced the volunteer work and the society service all the time long by making cleaning projects in the village and collecting the garbage once a week in addition to the cleaning of streets, quarters, cemeteries, churches and planting trees. They also build bus stations along the main street and distributed anti sect exterminators in order to clean the dirty places in the village.
The needs:
1. To build a good hall for the group in order to be used its activities and that can insure an income to them.
2. To build a resident for the group that consists of play rooms and offices for the administration.
3. To make a small park for the members and families.
4. To buy new musical instrument instead of the old ones that became unuseful.
5. To buy uniform for all the old and new members.
